Sequoia Sentinels Announces the Formation
of their Advisory Board
Sequoia Sentinels™ is a community-led non-profit [501(c)(3)] dedicated to cultivating the growth of sequoia trees, is excited to announce the establishment of its advisory board, composed of esteemed leaders and experts.
The newly formed advisory board comprises individuals with diverse backgrounds, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise. Their collective knowledge spans forestry and community involvement, ensuring a well-rounded and insightful advisory team for Sequoia Sentinels. All have planted sequoias.
Our advisory board is a group that provides guidance and advice to our organization. Their role is to help the organization grow and achieve its goals by offering advice and critical thinking. If you are interested in participating, email us.
From left-to-right, top-to-bottom:
- Wes Bergman is a 6th-generation member of the Bergman family who first came to the area in the 1800s. Wes raises cattle on his land as his family has done for many generations.
- Camren and Brennen love trees, climb trees, and participated in early plantings.
- Chris Clarke is an environmental scientist, strategic information technology leader, and professional musician.
- Cliff Kellogg is the former Station Chief of the Palomar Mountain Fire Department and serves on the San Diego County Fire Protection District Advisory Board and the Palomar Mountain Community Sponsor Group.
- Robert Carlyle is the President of the Palomar Fire Safe Council, President of the Palomar Mountain Fire Board, Chairman of the Palomar Mountain County Sponsor Group, and a longtime Palomar Mountain Planning Organization member.
- Jim Hamerly is the founder of Sequoia Sentinels, a member of the Society of American Foresters, a board member of the Palomar Mountain County Sponsor Group, and former Chairman of the Palomar Mountain Planning Organization.
